Outline

Radiation protection is the protection of human research (refer to all of humanity, in which some or individual members and their descendants) from less radiation hazards by application of discipline, sometimes also refers to protect humans from or subject to as little radiation hazards requirements, measures, means and methods. Radiation, including ionizing radiation and non-ionizing radiation. In the nuclear field, radiation protection specifically refers to ionizing radiation protection. American research and development in the underground shelter for radiation protection.

Radiation species

Nature, there are three rays: α (alpha), β (beta), γ (gamma) rays. There are two ways to receive radiation humans, called irradiation and external irradiation. α, β, γ-rays due to the different nature of the three, and its ability to penetrate substances and ionizing ability is different, their different ways harmful to the human body. α particles only enter the body will cause internal damage, which is within the irradiation; γ-rays, mainly from outside the body to cause damage to the human body, which is external radiation; β-ray irradiation caused both also caused external irradiation.

Radiation hazards

People in long-term practice and application found a small amount of radiation exposure does not endanger human health, excess radioactive radiation on the human body will produce harm, make people sick, cancer, death. By longer exposure time, the greater the radiation dose suffered harm is greater.
